ISSUE #2016010301 – HAS BEEN RESOLVED FOR ALL NEW INSTALLATIONS OF OIGY
The issue number takes the following form ‘#YYYYMMDDXX’ – This is the date and order the issue was entered into our tracking system. This issue has been resolved and is fixed in the latest version of the software. If you downloaded OIGY on or after the 3rd of February 2016 you do not have this issue. It is mentioned here because anyone who downloaded OIGY prior to the 3rd of February 2016 and who has display scaling enabled (which may be enabled by default and you may not be aware that it is) will see this issue. The automatic patching system does not fix this issue and you must use one of the three steps listed below to correct the problem.
OPERATING SYSTEMS AFFECTED
WINDOWS 10 (Based on your screens native resolution DPI scaling may be on by default)
WINDOWS 8.1 (Based on your screens native resolution DPI scaling may be on by default)
WINDOWS 8 (If DPI scaling has been forcefully enabled since DPI scaling is turned off by default)
WINDOWS 7 (If DPI scaling has been forcefully enabled since DPI scaling is turned off by default)
After clicking the OIGY desktop icon the OIGY launcher starts. You then click the ‘START’ button and OIGY starts up. You are then presented with the login screen but the ‘LOGIN’ button does not function and OIGY appears to be unresponsive.
There is a known issue on some higher resolution displays when ‘display scaling’ is enabled. OIGY is in fact running however DPI scaling has caused OIGY to believe that the login button is now located in a different location and when you click the button OIGY is being told you are clicking on a region of the screen where nothing exists. Hence it looks as if OIGY has become unresponsive.
In order to fix this issue you need to perform ONE of the following three actions:
1: Uninstall OIGY. Then download a new copy of OIGY from get.ogy.co and install it. Make sure you make a backup of your home files just in case. This copy will be available for download as from Tuesday the 2nd of February 2015 at 06:30 UTC.
2: Download the following file and run it. This file will update your registry to tell Windows not to use DPI scaling when it runs OIGY.
3: Manually update the oigy.exe file properties. If you are familiar with Windows this is the quickest and easiest way to fix the problem and takes about 20 seconds. Just locate the OIGY.exe file in your installation directory, usually c:\program files (x86)\oigy on 64 bit operating systems and c:\program files\oigy on 32 bit operating systems. Right click the icon and then click properties. Click on the Compatibility tab then place a tick in the ‘Disable display scaling on high DPI settings’ checkbox then click APPLY then click OK. This will only effect OIGY and not any other programs.
Once you have completed any one of the above steps run OIGY again to see if the issue has been corrected.
